Staff are courteous and accommodating. Many of them speak English, so communication is not a problem. There is an excellent concierge service for day tours and general tourist advice.

The Kyoto Brighton Hotel is located in a safe area that is within walking distance from the Imperial Palace, though it is not situated within the city center itself. To get downtown, guests will either need to use a bike, taxi or public transportation – the hotel offers a free shuttle bus service to the nearest subway station.
